Maybe some things were meant to be…my son was literally just accepted into Rutgers Engineering after being waitlisted two weeks ago. ?? He had already been accepted into their DUS equivalent school. This should make his day!

My daughter finally decided on Penn State. We planned an adventure stopping at all 3 schools she was considering, Kutztown, Penn State Main, & Millersville. She was at Kutztown on Friday and was feeling confused because she loved their pretty campus, but then yesterday we went up to PSU and within 15 minutes, she said I don’t think we have to go to Millersville. It was a really exciting moment for us. This is our first born and this experience has been overwhelming. My husband and I hugged her tight and had a moment that I will remember forever! Good luck to all of you still waiting!!! I’m going to keep checking in to see who’s made it. I feel invested in you all now especially @ziveli513
No matter what though, I want to say that there are so many wonderful schools out there and if there’s one thing I’ve learned during all of this it is that no matter where your child ends up, they will have a great education and meet lifelong friends! Again, good luck to you all!

Your daughter is blessed with loving and supportive parents, I’m sure she will have great success and enjoy her time at pen state main, it is an awesome campus with many exciting opportunities
As for us, as you say there are many opportunities so we are ok. My d keeps hearing from hs friends who are choosing Pitt and nearby slippery rock, she is getting more enthusiastic about maybe committing to Pitt every day
We are waiting to get a decision from psu and financial offers from other admits because we can wait. So all is good here with us
Meanwhile, My d was just awarded a $10,000 merit scholarship from Rutgers science college! Nice compliment to her hard work

Schreyer’s decisions will be posted this Tuesday at 3:30 PM. How many applicants, like us, have not yet received an admissions decision from UP? Schreyer’s email last week to students and parents states:
“Your student must have an offer of admission from Penn State University in order to receive a decision from the Schreyer Honors College. If your student does not currently have an offer from Penn State University, we encourage your student to visit their MyPennState account to determine their application status with the University.”
D’s application still “under review” in MyPennState… not looking good ?
@marniefaerie : call first thing. Tell them you’re a Schreyer applicant and have been under review since … (9/14) and MUST have a reply from them to hear from Schreyer. Don’t be placated. Call again around 4if nothing has changed on your portal. And again tomorrow morning.

@marniefaerie I’m fairly certain you can’t say you want an admission so they consider you. The two would be tied together, but sounds like your student is deserving of admission at the very least, especially with the grueling Schreyer essays!
Has anyone on the waitlist received an admission decision?
Called admissions this morning. Apparently students who do not yet have admissions decisions will not receive any decision from Schreyer until after PSU decision is made …whenever that might be. Obviously that makes sense, but why can’t they hurry up already?!
Just got off phone with admissions counselor
She said “oh something went wrong with our system, growing pains, tons of applications, Common ap and EA new this year.”
“Your application is fine and a decision has been made, just not showing in portal yet. Should by Wednesday!” Really??? By wed?
Omg I hope so, though I was told definitely would have decision by Monday last week when I called 2/8
I told her I have a few friends still waiting, is it a few applicants or many who missed the 1/31 deadline ?
She went on to say “Several groups of early action applicants stuck in this system problem, many still under review past the 1/31 deadline!”
She reassured me that the application was fine, a decision has been made(I asked her twice) and it should show in the portal “Wednesday”

Are you waiting for reconsideration though? 2nd decision, I think I recall you got 2+2 because u applied to smeal?
Did u contact them and ask to be reconsidered DUs or summer?

If she saw that a decision was made i’m surprised she didn’t just tell you what it was over the phone. Especially since you’ve been waiting for so long and we all know that their deadlines don’t mean anything anyway. At least you got proof that your decision was apparently already made…I have feeling you’ll get something this week @ziveli513
