@jlhpsu My view of PSU University Park has ALWAYS been 100% positive. The EA process has been confusing and frustrating. That is all. So I am really not sure how much more positive I can become. If anything, I had PSU on such a high pedestal, with fluffy clouds swirling all around at the top of the monument I had erected, birds chirping in the background, they had nowhere to go BUT down a notch. So to “come to view more positive than negative” couldn’t be farther from the reality of my situation.
We will all hear soon. I check the portal every midnight on weekdays. We have about 8 more portal checks to go. Once we all have an answer this long wait will finally be over with.
@MyaCocoa My favorites are butter pecan and Russ Diggs Roseberry - but everyone has their own favorites! FYI - they SHIP! And, they have coolers and dry ice to take home if you are up there visiting. We travel with it often

As someone who has been around a bit, ( personally offended by the term “veteran”, it makes me old).
I try to use my knowledge and experiences for good, to help people understand the process,
not for evil
ironic that an entire post complained about some posters, “Maybe if everyone would focus on the topics not the posters themselves it would be more positive, especially those who are not actually waiting for a decision”
so I will focus on the topic of Admissions:
I predict:

there will be website crashes
there will be delays
the sun will come up
admissions will make mistakes
Penn State may or may not be the school for your kid.
I have never said it was perfect. In fact, just the opposite.

First I would like to say thank you. I really appreciate your advice. You really helped me with my current Penn State student (and I never asked you a question). I have been looking at the comments this year because I have current high school Juniors that will be applying (you will probably get a question from me this year re Arch Engineering though).
I wish all that are waiting good luck. I know how concerned you are, but my current high stat student did not hear from Penn State until 1/26 (yes she was a Computer Engineer major and should have been a slam dunk due to the “no females” in that specific major). So understand it’s not “not respecting your high stat student “ it’s about giving all students a fair chance. Yes I do believe that.

Favorite Berkey flavor is plain chocolate. There was a birthday cake flavor this summer (I forget why) but I am not an ice cream person. DH is partial to Meyer Dairy maple walnut…
And yes, in the past, the portal updates more often at the end.
@greenbutton In the night it came to me… I want my cupcake to be chocolate mocha, with maybe a mocha frosting? Crushed dark chocolate covered coffee beans on top… Might mix that into some Berkey chocolate ice cream…
