im super excited, but im a little sad about being accepted to the summer session, it is very inconvenient for me especially considering that my 18th birthday falls in the middle of it and if i commit i will have to cancel a lot of plans i had already made, so im very apprehensive about considering PSU right now.
@m052521 a change of plans for one birthday in order to start your life in a great university seems like something you will forget about quickly. Just pick the best university for you and let your birthday plans fall where they may.

Hopefully an Eberly wave tonight. I have seen much less acceptances for Eberly than the other schools
@m052521 , congrats on your acceptance. Bday is one night versus 4 years at PSU. If you had big plans that were that important, you probably shouldnât have checked off summer as an option. If you decide not to go, please notify admissions promptly so they can release your spot to someone who wants it. TBH, I know your 18th bday feels like a big deal, but ten years from now you wonât care about that type of stuff. Your college experience stays with you for life.

If penn state is your dream school #1 choice then you will probably end up happy you took the summer option rather than be denied UP

My son was accepted to engineering today (woo!) but I had a couple of questions
On his application he said yes to the summer option since he wasnât sure if he wanted to do it or not. The admission decision section of his portal never mentions this option. Some family things have come up since he applied and it seems unlikely that he would be able to start university over the summer.
Is there a way to tell if he was accepted into the summer quarter, and if so is there some way to switch over to start in the fall quarter?
@hansenelliott007 The acceptance will indicate if it is for fall or summer. If itâs for the summer, there is no way to change to the fall as theyâve already evaluated that application for fall and it was deemed a summer admit, not a fall. However, if you donât see anything that indicates summer, then he likely got fall anyway. Iâd look carefully at the admission letter. Congrats!
