Hi! I am applying to Iowa for poetry and was just wondering if anyone that had already gone would be willing to share their writing sample. I just want to see how my writing compares and if I have a chance of getting in. Also if I don’t have a 10 page writing sample is that bad? I don’t have enough work that I am confident it to submit.

Ngl out of my 10 pages, I’m only confident in 3 pages or so. But I think you should definitely try to get to 10 pages regardless of the quality of writing, I bet your work is a lot better than you think it is!!

Omg does anyone know how Iowa is different from the other programs out there? Is Iowa online still worth it or are other online programs better?
based on the limited information i know, iowa is one of the most prestigious ones in the country. apparently it was founded by the CIA or something lol. umm besides that I’d say their main differentiation would be how they emphasize a deep dive into your chosen genre which allows for specialized development. and it’s in a close-knit residential setting.
