<p>It’s really up to the person. Some people can handle 5 classes from the get-go fine–or so my friend (read: acquiantance) said. I personally think it would’ve been wiser for me to start out with three classes my first quarter, and take Math 20A first instead of 20B, even though I’ve already got the credit. The content wasn’t so hard; the exams pwned me though. Didn’t really know how to study for them.</p>

<p>Take advantage of the two weeks or so you have to drop a class without any penalty. I personally like signing up for 5 classes, and then seeing which one I don’t like and dropping it before the time period is over. I signed up for 4 classes this fall, and I’m going to see which one I’ll drop. If I like them all and can handle them, I’ll keep them. Otherwise, the weakest link goes.</p>
