I am looking for math, econ schools in the northeast with a w GPA of 4.2,uw 3.5 and SAT of 2170. Computer Science can be a minor
Are Villa nova, Carnegie Mellon, John Hopkins, NYU, Duke, Yale, Boston College, UVA and Columbia doable?
My extracurricular and others are spectacular. Recs essays too will be good.
Dartmouth, Tufts, Wake Forest, Berkeley, Princeton any chances?

First reaction is that most of those are reaches. But can you supply more info? Specifically, how’s that 3.5 GPA stack up at your school? Do you have any SAT subject test scores? Any financial restrictions? Any hooks like recruited athlete, URM?
Villanova, BC, UVA, Tufts, WF and NYU might be doable. CMU, JHU, CAL Dartmouth and Duke will be reaches. Yale, Princeton and Columbia are very big reaches.
Your biggest problem is your uw GPA and it will be a problem for all of the schools. Your test score is solid, but not exceptional, and not on par with test scores for the most elite schools listed. That coupled with your GPA, will not make you a very strong candidate at these schools unless you have a legitimate hook (athlete, survive genocide, URM, a recognized artist/actor…etc)
sat math 800,bio 650 no financial restrictions, can be a recruited athlete but not trying for now may be a walk in later, not URM. But still an exceptional resume and presence. Essays should be outstanding.
If you have a connection with one of the coaches, I would use it…it can very much assist in admissions. As I previously stated, the first set of schools you will be competitive, but they are going to look at your GPA hard and long. The next two sets of schools will be ambitious reaches, I would narrow those down to 3-4, and then make some strategic decisions on who to actually make application. In some instances, your GPA is 4 to 5 tenths of a point lower than the mean accepted scores, so you will have to either accept that or figure out a way to make up the difference.
