21st bday Present ideas (boy & girl)

Need some inspirational ideas for 21st birthday presents for our kids (current college sophomores, will turn 21 in the summer). I really have no set idea on a budget.

They have the computer electronics they need.
They don’t have cars – they will receive upon graduation.

It’s easy to think of jewelry as a meaningful gift for my daughter, but she’s not into it and she already has “starter” nice pieces (pearl necklace, pearl earrings, that type of thing). She already has a nice handbag and a good “first briefcase” tote. And then if I do that, I need something comparable for my son, who is even simpler in his tastes. A nice watch seems like the obvious choice, but he’s going to get some nice watches from my father (who is a collector) and honestly, he’s not going to wear a nice watch anyway. (Sigh.)

Or, maybe one idea is to give them a little fun weekend away just the two of them (they are close and would enjoy it). They have talked about wanting to see Las Vegas - I’m not paying for that (they can do that if they want, but on their own dime), but I might be open to treating them to a fun weekend someplace. NYC seems like the obvious choice, but I don’t see them really wanting to do a NYC-type weekend. I almost think something like a Disney, where they could just run around and have fun and be silly.

But, I truly am kind of at a loss here, and would love some creative juices!

Bar tab. Not very creative, but very much appreciated by D1 when she turned 21. She made a reservation at a night club and invited her closest friends (100+) to the event. I gave her our credit card for a set amount. After it was used up, they were on their own. As the birthday girl, all her drinks were comped. She had it in NYC. A lot of her friends came to the the city for the party.

Our D went to Vegas with 7 other GFs and someone’s parents for the weekend. They all had a great time.

We paid for a great dinner for S and D in their drive from SF to LA with overnite at San Simeone. Gave S a nice watch for graduation but he found too large and had me return. :(.

Believe there were prior threads about this topic. At Disneyland, birthday kid was free. Each of my kiddos got friends to take them to Disneyland for their Bdays. Could be a fun option for your kiddos and pay for a room, few meals and another day or two.

My youngest & her bf are both turning 23. He also just graduated but took D on a trip for her spring break instead of attending the ceremony and I didn’t really get him anything special, so I am giving them both tickets to Sasquatch (music festival.)

The private campground is up to 5 nights, so I think that should be plenty of time for them to spend together but also to see their friends and do things separately. Its a gorgeous;) area.

For her 22nd birthday she went skydiving( she did that with money her grandparents gave her) for her 21st since she was still in school while several of her friends were home for the summer, they went to visit and take her out to dinner.
I think I just gave her money, that always comes in handy.
