22 Father's Day Cards ............

… for dad’s who do not take themselves seriously. If you get a moment, check out the article on this topic on the Huffington Post. You will not be disappointed. I’m a father but I don’t really like cards or gifts for FD. I just consider it completely unnecessary. If my kids aren’t in jail at the moment that is thanks enough. That is all I need. I hate the commercialization of every holiday. Hate it. I love Christmas except for the crass gift giving equating to something cool or religious. That is why I’ve always loved Thanksgiving so much more. TG is Christmas without the forced gift giving. Halloween is even better, my favorite holiday, it comes first and signals such a lovely time of year.

Anyway, the 22 cards featured in the article are absolutely classics. I loved everyone of them. Such great humor. I downplay every FD, I don’t need it or want it, save your money, plant a tree, do whatever but don’t waste it on me but I have saved a few FD cards over the years and keep them with a little file I have of things that I value highly. I can’t really say why those cards are the ones I kept when all the others are long gone. There was something about the card or message or time when it was given that meant I just couldn’t throw it away. I think, maybe, the cards I kept had similar messages as the cards in the article. Trust me. Go read that article especially if you are a dad.

There is something great about Father’s Day cards in general. Such a different genre than Mother’s Day cards, for sure.

Love the cards…especially the first one. :)) My kids got me a “World’s Best Farter” shirt a few years ago. They didn’t think I’d have the guts to wear it in public, but I get a kick out of watching the double takes as people finally read it correctly.

Did you guys see the links to 22 dad jokes at the bottom of that card article?! I am wiping tears after laughing hard at some of those!

Here! Not to derail the thread

These are fabulous!!

D2 gave my wife a Mother’s Day card which said:
“Mom, sorry you had to put up with a lot of obnoxious behavior over the years”
When opened, it read:
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

“But enough about Dad.”

Both links great- I forwarded them to various people. OP- totally disagree with you and holidays in general, probably because I outgrew the religion bit. Thanksgiving is best however because everyone gets to participate in this country regardless of beliefs or family status.
