2290 Retake?

hehe i know, so was mine.

i’m in the same situation - 800 on the psat math, but 710 on the sat math. 4 stupid questions. perfectionist that i am, i’m retaking. if it bothers him enough, he should go for it.

Ur Madd G@y

Well the PSAT curve was brutal, especially for math, so don’t let that lead you to believe “he’s capable of an 800”. Only 2/3rds of student will actually score within the projected SAT score range as based upon PSAT scores.

Some top colleges (Harvard I know for sure) will take the highest scores from separate sections, even if it’s on a different testing. So if his scores drop on CR, it doesn’t matter, the schools will still look at it as an 800.

Basically, he’s got nothing to lose, aside from $40 and a saturday afternoon. A 2290 though is a very solid score for the Ivies, so it’s no big deal if he doesn’t do better.

Personally, I got a 236 on the PSAT and 2200 on the SAT and know I can do better.

you should retake the 2390.
