23% acceptance vs. 87%

Two state colleges… not in my state of residence. One in CA, one in OR. Afte3r I finish my 2 year degree in OR, I can either invest the time to get residency in either or. OR cA. I think I could get into the 87% acceptance college no problem… but the other?

I never took the SAT. It has been 8 years since I graduated HS, but i would probably do well on the SAT. My GPA from the 2 year college is 3.58

What exactly is the college in CA? The higher UCs seem really against letting in OOSers judging by the numbers…

Yeah, please identify.

Uni of Cal. at Berkley. What is an OOSer? :0 I hope you didn’t mean lOOSer :stuck_out_tongue:
The other is Uni of Or. They both have the programs I want. I need to do some research on how long it takes to get residency for tuition purposes in Ca… But I think intuitively I would stand a greater chance of getting California residency than Or (because I’m completing my 2 year degree in OR. now… even if I live there for 12 months after I graduate, they might see right though it and deny me residency.

Conversely, my handicapped mother lives in the CA. bay area… so I can make it look like I’m not going there for school purposes.

Also, I’ll be a transfer (I also have two years of schooling in the Philippines), so I’m not sure if SAT’s really matter in my case.

Pienso que ellos significaron OUT OF STATE er

Just in case others are curious, the UC@B requires that you live in California with the intention of permanency for one year before you enroll.

And, the acceptance of transfers is higher than that of freshman-- they accept 33% of transfers.
