<p>Your answer absolutely will not affect your chances. Rice does not suffer from Tufts syndrome. The adcom considers HYPMS and Duke to be its peers and does not shy away from the competition. If you are truly a match for any of those schools, Rice’s most likely response will be to compete by offering merit money.</p>
