27" Monitor too big?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I have a 27 inch monitor that I am considering taking to college as a tv/monitor combo and I am wondering if it will be far too big to be of use on the average size desk in a college dorm room. It is a 16:9 aspect ratio and I would be hooking a 15" laptop up to it at times, I have a stand for it that makes the space it takes up minimal, however.</p>

<p>If you think about it, the 27" monitor actually takes up very little usable space: it’s flat.</p>
