what does 2nd interview mean?

In the context of Yale admissions, sometimes applicants interview in New Haven at the Admissions office. When they retn home, they may be offered a 2nd interview from a local alumni volunteer. Neither is required however.

But they will be in a advantage place

maybe…

Advantage? Who knows. Maybe the interview report will include a subtle anecdote about the applicant’s picture, maybe it will clarify an unclear area about an activity – however these can be bad or good .

It’s just more info to evaluate.

most schools are candid that the alum interviews are more about keeping alums engaged with the college than providing valuable info about the applicant…though of course, one can always torpedo oneself by being rude, clueless, or ditzy.
