3.0 gpa/25 act/great essay. chances?

<p>Honestly, my high school career up until my senior year has been a train wreck (2.4 gpa) But I’ve definitely stepped up this year as I have a’s and b’s while taking two Ap classes, Rising Scholar Literature (B+) and College Biology (A-). My transcript hasn’t been updated to this semester so it still shows my bad stats. I’m hopeful that I can bump my gpa up to at least a 3.0. </p>

<p>I got a 25 on the Act plus Writing</p>

<p>Regardless of all that I still consider myself an intelligent and college-worthy student, I just never took high school very seriously. On the other hand, I love to write and that has always been my strength. My college essay is excellent and is my only hope getting into a good school, according to my father. My other passion has always been photography, both film and digital. </p>

<p>I am out of state looking to apply at Uc Santa Cruz, Humboldt State University, University of Oregon. </p>

<p>What chances would I have?</p>

<p>Another issue I have is that most Uc schools close their application deadline on the 30th of November and my transcript and act scores on my transcript have not yet updated. If I apply with what I have now then I know I have no chance of getting in, what can I do about this?</p>

<p>What exactly does that mean? High Match and Reach and all that.</p>

<p>Reach means it’ll be tough to get in. Although it is still possible.
High Match means almost a reach</p>

Are you a minority at all? (it apparently helps)
Not counting freshman year what is your GPA?</p>

<p>I am Hispanic, I was born in Colombia. My essay is unique and very well written. I’d guess my Gpa is 2.7-3.0 without freshman year.</p>
