<p>It depends. Go to the Common Data Set of the schools you are looking at, Section C. It will say which gets more weight, GPA or Ranking. Most seem to weight ranking more for just this reason.</p>

<p>It depends on the school. Some are simply numbers-driven. Others pride themselves on a “holistic” assessment of the applicant.</p>
