3.5 GPA should i bother applying to transfer or wait

I’m currently going to a California community college in hopes to transfer to either ohio state, university of washington seattle, and USC for a business major. I switched majors during community college so the classes that lowered my GPA were STEM courses (specifically chem and calc 2). Since my GPA is somewhat low I was planning to wait another year at community college to boost my GPA, but is it worth the hassle? Do I have a chance to get into these schools? My SAT was 1190 and I do extracurriculars (job)

Not to sound harsh but I think you’d be better off waiting another year before applying – hence applying as a junior transfer.

A 3.5GPA is the minimum to be competitive so if you can pump that up, all the better. Get involved in more business related activities if available e.g. Investment/Finance clubs/societies etc. and if you can’t, look for part-time internships throughout the semester. If your current extracurricular job is related to business, all the better.

Since you’re applying as a junior transfer, definitely do not send in your SAT score at all. I also suggest applying to Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and Michigan State. USC is definitely a research but it’s no more a reach for you as Ivy League schools are for most overachievers so just keep pushing hard and you’ll reap the rewards!
