hi guys!
So im a junior and i figured out that my high school GPA will probably be a 3.5

i go to a very competitive catholic highschool
ive been playing field hockey for 4 years, varsity for junior and senior year
i play the harp
started & head of debate club
started & head of a program at school to help girls living in poverty in other countries
4 years in select singing group at school–been on TV & recorded and such
Studnet gov for 2 years, class president
200 hours of community service @ hospital, shelters, and such.

2300 on SATs

APS:
AP Calc BC
AP US
AP French
AP English Language
AP English Lit
AP Bio
AP gov/pol

5 on AP tests.

I’ve been taking honors and AP classes throughout all of highschool, never been in regular class.

im interested in psychology or directing and film studies

Where do you think I would be able to get into even with my semi low GPA?

Is that your weighted GPA??? That sounds a bit low for all the honors and AP classes you’ve taken…especially since you’ve gotten 5’s on your exams.

If your school does not weigh GPA, it should…and parents need to make a big stink about that because it is hurting students (my kids’ school had to be pushed HARD to start weighing classes).

also, some schools have a policy of changing an AP grade to an A if the kid gets a 5 on the exam.

Also…does you school just send a “year end” grade or does it send semester only grades for transcript? That can also affect GPA.

Well, if you could just recommend some schools that would be great.
Im nervous because i was looking at school profiles and like some of them are like 3.75 or like 3.8 and i dont think i even have a chance applying there so like around where should i go for?

We need more info before we recommend some schools…

What part of the country do you want to go to school…

What type of school do you want to go to? large, small, quiet, sports rah-rah, lots of activities, etc?

Can your parents afford a private school (about $55,000 per year)? Have you asked them and received confirmation about what they are willing to pay?

But…just off the top of my head…

St. Louis University

Tulane

Rhodes College

University of Portland

University of Seattle

Gonzaga U

any of the colleges listed in the book “Colleges that Change Lives”

No money is not an issue at all
and im not exactly sure about our schools weighting policy but suppose my weighted gpa is like 3.5, where does that put me?
