My GPA is around a 3.7, but my school is one of the toughest in the state, and its students’ average SAT score is around a 2150. The average GPA is around a 3.5 at my school. Will Ivies/Top Engineering School realize that my school is very tough? By the way, I’m an East Asian male who wants to apply in engineering so that won’t help… 
Actually, I meant to say that the average GPA is a 3.4, and my school regularly sends around 20% of its class to very prestigious colleges.
What’s your class rank? Colleges will see the profile of your high school and will definitely take the rigor of the school itself into account.
If you know your school sends 20% of students to prestigious colleges and if your GPA or class rank is within the top 20%, then you should be fine.
