I’ve been a straight A student until my sophomore year. I ended up getting 3 C’s a B, and an A for my first semester of sophomore year because of a lot of mental health issues. i’ve always wanted to go to schools like Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, Columbia, etc. but should i just kiss that goodbye? Is there any chance I can get into an ivy or little ivy even if I excel for the next two years? I’m on color guard, a Model UN hall of fame varsity member, i’ve played in orchestra, and I might receive leadership in both by my senior year. I volunteer, I work, and I’m extremely good at interviewing. My SAT and ACT scores are projected to be high, around a 1530 and a 35. even with all this, is it possible? will this one semester ruin me?
no, usually theres an additional info section that you can fill out about why your grades slumped. take a breath, and leave it in the past. the only thing you can do is move forward and get better. you will find your fit! do not give up because of the past. you still have a chance if this is a one-time thing!
