3 key factors for 2400 in SAT

For me, there are three factors that can enable myself to thrive for excellence in SAT testings.

 1. Enjoyment
 2. Motivation
 3. Discipline

Of all the above factors, I don’t possess any of them. If I only had one of these, then I believe that I would be able to achieve my goal of 2300. Most of the people who have achieved excellent scores were also great self-motivators. Rarely people enjoy or need to be disciplined in order to achieve a decent score on the SAT. So how do I stay motivated and so that I won’t be sidetracked?

Some are just good at it.
Take our valedictorian for example.

Lazy, conceited, and an alcoholic.
Yet she maintains a 3.98 uw gpa and got a 2280 on her SAT’s.

She lacks pretty much all the factors you listed :P

Blah, blah. There’s no secret, no factors, gaaahhhh! You study for the test by getting familiar with the questions, then you take the real thing and see how you do.

That’s it.

People who talk about getting 2300s never get them. People who get off forums to study and practice sometimes get them.

Haha, might be mean of me to point this out (heck, I’m already done with my SATI’s and most of my II’s…just lit left to go!)…

But in order not to be sidetracked, I’d suggest you

 1. get off this forum
 2. seriously start studying more and less philo XD

It requires a hell of a lot of work. A senior in my school this year aced both his SAT and his ACT, an extremely rare feat.

What did he get?

“What did he get?”

Perhaps I should reiterate: he aced the SAT (2400) and ACT (36).

I wished I aced the ACT.

Haha XD To prove my point that these tests test nothing but diligence, here are my (shocking) scores:

Took the ACT unprepared, unwilling, and totally…out of my mind: 30 (29, 26, 28, 30 or something on the seperate sections)

Took the SAT after sharing my brain with 60 practice exams: 2400

I don’t know what happened with the SAT II’s (2x800). I think I was just lucky…plus math and physics are my best subjects for a certain reason (reason: I HATE LITERATURE/HISTORY/SOCIAL SCIENCES/ ENGLISH GRAMMAR/ ANYTHING LIKE THAT XD)

Well sorry, “ace” could mean alot of things. ~.~
But Damn, 2400/36? crazy

Listen to posters #3 and #4

Get off the forum and go study!

I have 1 but not 2 or 3. I enjoy standardized tests 'cause I’m good at them and don’t NEED 2 or 3. :]

@ euphoria: Why would someone take the ACT if he already got a perfect on the SAT, or the opposite? Seems a little… unnecessary.

Posters 3 and 4 both scored a 2340 and a 2400 respectively.
LOL, they can stay on here forever.

@Poseur, he took the ACT cause he enjoys standardized tests and he’s good at them.

I enjoy standardized tests and I’m good at them, but I’m not gonna waste a Saturday(?) morning to stroke my ego…

Do colleges give more prestige to ppl that have high scores on both the SAT and the ACT? Why would that guy that aced the SAT take the ACT too.

^Cause he can, jealous? :P

Haha, I HATE standarized tests so much, but I really love watching other people attempt studying XD…so maybe I love it?

I totally lack #3, but I think my #2 makes up for it =D

I think it’s a “because it’s there” kind of thing. Anybody hear about the PSAT-SAT-ACT “Trifecta”?

ivychan lend me your powers!

His name is “ivychan”. Until your name is even close to being as cool as that, you have no chance.

I would be very careful making accusations on a publicly viewed webite that someone is an alcoholic, lazy and conceited. The legal ramifications could be quite serious and if you can delete that post you should…immediately!
