3 on the APUSH test

Hi everyone, I’m going to be a sophomore in high school and as you know today the AP scores come out. I took APUSH as a freshman and because of a very unprepared teacher most of my class got 3s on the exam instead of a 4 or 5 like the other students did. My dream school would be UPENN’ Wharton for economics so I was wondering 1) how much does UPENN specifically look at AP scores 2) Would it hurt if I retake the test but not the class 3) do I send in the 3
thank you

You do yourself a disservice by blaming your score on a “very unprepared teacher.” That attitude will be more detrimental to you as you apply to schools like Penn than whether or not you scored a 3 or 4. Did you self-study for the AP exam as well? Use prep books and flash cards to make sure you were prepared, beyond what the teacher covered in class?

Just don’t report the score on your app. Move forward and prepare better in future. I understand that you felt the class should have prepared you better, but you have learned an important lesson.

Keep in mind that generally, less than 30% of test takers score a 4 or 5 on the AP history tests

I’m sorry if it came across as that way, but I was ranked top in my class and I self studied with notes and flash cards etc. most people in only this class received a 2 while other students in my school got a 4 or 5 so I think it was because of my teacher but of course that’s definitely not the entire reason why.

The scores just came out a few hours ago. How do you know how others did?

everyone’s posting about it online already lol
