Justamom- thank you for that.

Who would know when I was a social outcast high school kid who studied all the time (for lack of anything better to do) that I’d be a grandmother with a fantastic and supportive spouse, friends all over the world, a job I truly love and can’t wait to attack every morning, and an incredibly interesting life (even if confined now by Covid?)

It Gets Better. Indeed! But I never regret those books I read… and the only upside to quarantine/confinement is that I’m back to voracious reading!

And Huzzah for your button on thoughts and prayers.

Avoid bad boys.

“you go girl!”

17 was a very fun year, my senior year of high school. I understood HS grades did not matter for getting into our state flagship which all my family and 99% of my class attended. So I concentrated on my social life: college boyfriends and fraternity parties, out almost every night. I had a short school day, came home for lunch with my much adored, and adoring parents, watched a couple of soap operas with them and then took a nap so as to be rested up for the parties.

By summer I was really and truly and completely bored out of my mind and ready to move on.

Sometimes I wonder if my parents foresaw that result. One of many questions I wish I could ask them.

I wrote “Forget about boys” to myself several posts above.

I recently reread my journals from college and my twenties. Oh boy, was I obsessed with finding someone. What a waste of energy. I should have been focusing on my career and soooooooooo many other things.
