<p>okay so reasons… A is wrong because is should be are as “a number” takes a plural verb.
corroborative instead of cooperative in number 3… diction error.</p>

<p>2 could be A if the correct idiom is “landed IN the West Indies.” “I landed in New York” sounds better to my ear than “I landed on New York.”</p>
