And to be fair, many of these are NOT younger people. They are still alive though - as of publication date.
I’ll for one of my favorites here - Stevie Wonder. I feel his songs will be know for decades and beyond.

About Paul Simon - I’m so glad “American Tune” was mentioned. I think it’s a brilliant song and the lyrics are so relevant to today. And " My Little Town" - I can never get over how a guy from New York so perfectly captured my feelings about growing up in a fading midwestern town.
I’ve already listened to the Taylor Swift interview and currently listening to the three country writers. A little irritated that they lumped the three of them together as each certainly can stand on his/her own.
Finally looked at the whole list. Love the inclusion of Carole King and Willie. A couple of names I don’t recognize.
ETA: I should’ve waited to post until I spent more time with the list. I know Lucinda Williams because she’s an Austin girl, but I had no idea that she was known well enough to be put on this list. I’m sure more thoughts are to come as I keep making my way through it all. Ds2 is a songwriter so this topic is close to my heart.
Y’all, in that other thread about songs we love I asid Every Little Step by Bobby Brown. I just learned that Babyface wrote that so, yeah, he def belongs on this list!
Remember, lists are the product of who made the list and the # targeted do the list. Different producers of the list, and the list looks different. A bigger or smaller # for the list and the list looks different.
