Thanks for the Comments!

You may have a chance. I know someone who had 1670-yes, 1670-on SAT got deferred- not rejected. So anything’s possible.

Your new SAT score puts you close enough to the low end of Princeton’s range to give you a viable chance - however, it is still too low for you to be a standout, even with your first-generation status, grades, and ECs. However, the adcoms will likely forward your slides to the art department, and if they like your work, you’ll probably get in.

As far as your drop in grades is concerned, it isn’t precipitous, so you shouldn’t be too concerned. If there are legitimate circumstances, however, you should have your GC write a letter to schools explaining these circumstances. Since the drop isn’t that dramatic, the tone should probably be " I just want you to know how well he has done in spite of x, y, and z, " rather than " I know these grades are not up to par, please excuse them because of x, y, and z."

I don’t know where else you are applying, but barring HYPSM, you have an excellent shot at any other school, and even those five are reasonable possibilities. Good luck!

Bump…

Just for clarification: Your mom is 1/8 Spanish and you are calling yourself part Hispanic?

Yes, that is true. And according to the monogenesis hypothesis in conjunction with the infamous “one drop rule,” I am also part Ethiopian.

I know this question may sound absurd, but would anyone recommend that I take the SAT I for a fourth time? Bump…

Bumpty, bump…

I dont think a fourth time would be good, unless you think you could improve like 400 points

you wont get in -your color is asian and that isnt a good ‘color’ to be

^^ whoa. I find that comment rude and unnecessary. Hey kid, don’t get discouraged. Just apply and see what happens. Alot of people who were believed to have no chance get in. Admission process, in fact, is unpredictable. Someone with 1950 SAT got in Princeton, 1940 SAT in Yale, and 1980 SAT in Duke. Like I said before, nothing’s impossible. However, you may have a very small chance- your stat is not as excellent as others’. But, who knows?

Wow, that’s quite offensive.

Hey, Hairypotty, do you happen to know more about the person who got into Princeton with a 1950 SAT?

Does anyone know when financial aid for Princeton is officially due?
