Are you in state?
As I understand it, the interquartile range is 30-34, so you be fractionally above the 25th percentile. As I further understand it, Michigan pays attention to the unweighted GPA, which will probably show a median of around 3.85 this year, which you exceed. Class rank is very solid. I’m at the bottom end of those who claim to offer chancing advice, but I would guess that you are sort of low to middle match, if the GPA is unweighted. That said, most advice would be better than mine, but I hate to see a post unanswered. Good luck.
^ You probably misunderstand what is a low match.
And you probably misunderstand several things: 1) your mail adds nothing to the discourse; the aspiring student is no more informed by your post than they would have been by consulting a rock; 2) by opining in the negative without substantiating your post, you come across as a bit of a Richard; 3) the goal of this thread is to inform that aspirant, not to afford you an opportunity – especially given my express deference to the expertise of others – to grandstand.
As your mother may have forgotten to mention, if you have nothing nice to say…
yes
I can’t really answer your question, but you should know that your rank will not impact the decision. According to its Common Data Set, UM does not consider class rank.
Just want to point it out that low match means a chance higher than match and is at least over 50% chance. With a test score below admission average at a school with 26% admission rate is by no mean a low match, not even a match. People need to learn the info and manner before making comment. The most critical question has been asked in #1 and answered in #5, I assume.
Being in state definitely make it a high match. The in state admission rate is near 50% and your test score is just a little bit below admission average. What is critical now is your EC and essay. How familiar are you with UMich? Are you ready for the why this school assay.
