33 act?

Is a 33 good enough? I got a 2010 on the SAT and have 750+ on my subject tests. This is for the College of Engineering. Any reason to retake?

Yes it’s good enough, focus on your essays, reccomendations, and extra-curriculars. Be sure your application shows a passion in something particular.

Both your ACT and Subject tests are solid scores and definitely competitive. I’d recommend choosing your ACT over SAT when sending scores. I highly doubt retaking will be any benefit to you. The only advice I have is pretty much what Iwannabeavet already stated.

I would say your ACT is better than the SAT.
Then again, can you show what you got in each section?

@Supervisor I got 680 in Math, 670 in CR and 660 in Writing (11/12 essay).
My ACT breakdown: 36M, 35 Science, 31 Reading, 31 English

Great ACT.
I feel as though you can get a better SAT score, though… Like, waaaay better, lol.
36 in math on the ACT - you can nail an 800 in math on the SAT.

11/12 on the essay? Then your grammar just needs improving!

Read it, good book. I am going to say you can get at least a 750 if you really study for it.

But, if you decide not to retake, then yeah, your ACT is great. >30s on everything; I thought it would be 36 36 28 27 or something like that. Shows that you are well rounded (that’s the word, right?).

^ I didn’t really prep much for the SAT. I’m short on time since I have sports during the fall plus all this college stuff, so I don’t know if I’ll have time to prep then. I’ll definitely try to retake the SAT later in Nov or Dec if I can.

Supervisor, I have not seen that big a difference between someone’s Science and Reading sections when the higher score is in Science.

OP, just use Silverturtle’s writing guide for the writing section- that’s all you need. However, if I were you, I’d just use the 33 ACT and forget about standardized testing (except for APs) and just focus on your essays/recs.
