35 on the ACT in 10th grade... what now?

I just finished the 10th grade about a month ago. I hadn’t taken the ACT since 7th grade for the DUKE TIP program, where I got a 27, so I thought it might be a good time to take it again before the required 11th grade test. I took it and just got my scores back and I got a 35. Don’t get me wrong, that’s great, but what do I do now? I don’t know what college I wanna go to (I have options in mind but it’s a LOT of options), I have majors I wanna do (but once again don’t have one specific choice and have a lot of options) and I just wanna know so I don’t mess anything up for the future. Also have an unweighted 4.0 and a little higher unweighted as of now. If that helps at all

Keep doing what you have been academically. Take challenging classes. Dig into ECs you are interested and do well in them; they can be inside or outside of school. If you think you might want to go to a highly ranked school, look into taking a couple of SAT subject tests. You should plan to study for them, though.

Oh, and get to at least 4th year in a foreign language, through Calc in math, and have 4 years of history & social studies classes. Take bio, chem, and physics.

Take a practice PSAT and see how you do on that… you are probably in good position to qualify for National Merit Semifinalist with this October’s PSAT. Depending on how your practice test goes, spend a little time fine-tuning that this summer.

Congrats on that fantastic ACT score! Would advise the same regarding National Merit. Look into taking the PSAT/NMSQT in October of junior year which is the only time you will be eligible for the contest. With the ACT out of the way, you’ll have more time for SAT and subject tests, if those are needed or desired. If your PSAT selection index puts you in National Merit territory, you’ll need to take the SAT to confirm your selection index but will have plenty of time to figure out best timing, etc. and will be ahead of the game given that PSAT prep.

EC’s  your academics are solid.

Well, you don’t have to take the ACT again.

Continue getting involved EC’s. If youre feeling extra ambitious, take it once more to shoot for a perfect 36. Best of luck!
