4.4 - 4.5 GPA, WHERE DID Y'ALL GO TO COLLEGE???

THOSE WHO HAVE HAVE OR HAD A 4.4 OR A 4.5 GPA IN HIGH SCHOOL, WHERE DID YOU GUYS GET ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE OR WHERE ARE YOU GOING GO TO COLLEGE???

On what scale? (Also, please turn the caps off… it is “shouting”).

Sorry lol, and weighted @intparent

So on a 4.0 scale. We see a variety out here (some schools have an unweighted 5.0 scale, for instance).

You are better off to ask about unweighted GPAs. College generally look at the unweighted.

Agree with ^^ @intparent, that asking about unweighted GPA is better since different schools weight grades differently. Also GPA is only one part of the application, so just because you have a high GPA does not mean you will have the same acceptance results as other posters.

what was your unweighted @Gumbymom @intparent

Many colleges don’t really take into consider your weighted, mostly unweighted. Many will “re-weight” your gpa after sending in your application, to put it on an unweighted scale where it’ll be easier to compare applicants.

As @Gumbymom said, GPA is only a part detail of an applicant. There are ALSO ECs, Volunteer hours, Grade trend, Test scores, what major you want to go into, number of AP classes/Honors/IB, Class rank (sometimes), Essays, LORs, Interviews (depend on school that offer), state residency, alumn relation, musical talents, etc.

GPA is NEVER a “minute” part of any application.

^^what are you referring to in that thread from 2006?

My daughter was accepted at Alabama with a weighted GPA in that range.

You can go to the results thread for any given year and see. You are going to see that GPA range at just about any college.

Above the range. Sacramento State University, a low tier and I lived at home.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
This is a pointless thread. There is no consistent weighting rubric used by US HS’s. So a 4.4 at one HS does not mean the same thing at another HS. For this reason, a college will either use UW GPA to evaluate students or will apply its own weighting stand.

If the OP want to repost the question with an UW GPA range (without the caps lock) feel free. However, this thread is closed.
