4.7 UF GPA reject?

Have you ever heard of some one with a 4.7 out of 5 UF GPA and a 2100+ SAT score getting rejected from UF? Has a double legacy with those stats ever been rejected before?

I was just wondering because UF is where I want to go and I don’t want to waste my time and money applying to a safety like FSU if it’s safe to apply to only UF. If my essay and ECs are pretty good (but not amazing or anything), should I waste my time applying to FSU?

Bump…

Even though your stats are very strong for the University of Florida, I think one should always apply to safeties. Keep in mind, no matter how accomplished an applicant may be, nobody is guaranteed admission to any given university. Even though I fully expect you to be accepted by UF, I think you should apply to FSU anyway. It’s always wise to be on the safe side.

I believe a student with 4.7 UF GPA and 2100+ is guaranteed admission at Iowa State and U Iowa even as OOS, even though a 4.7 UF GPA requires 3.7+ UW.

UF is a very irregular school, perhaps the most irregular state flagship there is, so I can fathom even a person for whom McGill is a safety (non-holistic but there’s no way, except maybe a BiomedE applicant at 3.7 UW, a 3.7+ UW/2100 will not get an acceptance letter from that school that asks students to declare majors at the time of application) be denied by UF.
