If your financial aid package doesn’t meet your needs, consider appealing. https://www.collegeconfidential.com/articles/4-steps-to-appealing-a-financial-aid-decision/
We received an initial financial aid amount from a LAC that was not enough for us to be able to send our daughter there. We went to the admitted students event in our home city anyways and were able to speak directly with a FA director who was present. To our surprise, we were able to appeal the decision and it was not based on loss of job or illness or other catastrophic reasons but on our particular overall situation. Our daughter graduated from this college last Spring. It never hurts to ask!
Congrats! Very similar to the situation we’re in now, however we didn’t get our financial offer prior to our admitted student day visit - it came the week after. Could you share any generalities about your situation that helped your cause/appeal? We likewise do not have any of these extenuating circumstances for appeal…simply a completely unrealistic EFC determination. Without a successful appeal, our son’s “dream school” is not an option. Thank you.
Congrats!
