4 Tests-Which Ones to Send?

So I just got my November SAT subject scores back. I also took some in June, and these are all my scores from both sittings.

Chinese (Not a native speaker; I’m taking it at school now for my 4th year)-700
World History-710
Physics-720
Math II-730

I feel terrible since I decided to take World History and Math II on the spot (I literally decided to during break time) and now I realize that I could’ve brought my scores up easily if I studied a little. However, I have to send in RD apps soon and I would love not to have to worry about taking another round of exams again to raise my scores up several points…

I already applied Yale SCEA with my ACT scores, so no SAT was needed. However, several other highly selective schools that I’m applying to if I get rejected/deferred from Yale require 2 or 3 scores and I’m not sure which ones to send… It probably seems logical to send my highest ones, but do colleges like to see balance in the subject areas of the tests as well? I’m planning on majoring in Geophysics/Chinese or Neuroscience/Chinese if that helps.

These are the weakest parts of my application and I’m extremely nervous about this. I was really hoping for a 750+, but 20-50 points short shouldn’t kill my chances right? Any help would be appreciated!

Top-tier schools generally look for SAT Subject test scores in the 750-800 range.

Given your desire not to retake the Subject tests, you’re just going to have to live with your current scores. For RD apps to colleges that request SAT Subject scores, the typical recommendation is to send the highest Subject scores. If I were you, I would consider sending all of them since they’re pretty good. If you’re a Caucasian (bai ren), it would be rather interesting that you decided to study Chinese for 4 years. If you’re an ABC (American-born Chinese), then it’s not so interesting.

The overall admissions decision at Yale (and other schools) will be heavily weighted on other parts of your application, so I wouldn’t sweat “average” Subject scores. That’s just my take on your situation…

Dude, they’re good scores, just send them in.

700 is all you need. 20-50 points is the difference of only two two four questions, and colleges know that.

Hmmm, I’m not an ABC but I was actually born in China and moved here when I was very young. I’m lot of different races, but I’m part Chinese. I also have a really unique family situation which caused me to lose touch with my Chinese side (and European and Indian side) from a very young age. Thus, I’ve really had no Chinese training or exposure throughout my life. Do you think I should still send in my Chinese scores? I’m really passionate about the language, but it is my lowest one…
