I’m applying to USC’s undergraduate film production program (School of Cinematic Arts). I consider myself to be a strong candidate considering my grades, the essays and materials on my application, my creative portfolio, and awards/press coverage regarding my films, etc.

For one of the supplemental materials I have to send along with my application they ask me:

“Video Option: Create a brief narrative video in which you had a major creative role. The video can be either live-action or animation, fiction or documentary, but it should reflect your aesthetic tastes and intellectual and emotional interests. (no more than five minutes)”

Now here’s one of my movies. I made it with other students for a fun48 “48-hour” film competition, it showed at my school’s Film Festival and even got a good review in the local newspaper:

[YouTube - Baked To The Future](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSIZjiBFsNE)

I think it’s obvious what’s in discussion here.

May be useful to inform that I live in California. USC is in California. In the state of Cali marijuana is legalized for medicinal purposes. The moral of the film’s story actually is anti-marijuana (in a potentially ironic way).

My other option is to take my favorite short film, which is ten minutes long, and try to butcher it into under five minutes. Every director’s worst nightmare…

What do you all have to say?
