I am a sophomore in high school, and I recently took the SAT. I got a 1970… sadly it is not the score I wanted, although it is a 310 point increase from when I took the SAT last. I really am trying to get a 2400 (like everyone else) and I know that 430 points is a daunting task to try to complete/ achieve. Is there any advice that you could give me? and how reliant are SAT scores on the amount of sleep that you get because I was running on three hours of sleep when I took it (day after prom )
Everyone will like to get a 2400, but it requires to be nimble on the test. A 2250+ will open the same doors as 2400 so don’t feel bad if you don’t make it. Also the SAT will be completely new for next year.
It is possible. I currently underwent a 250 point increase in my SAT score with 3 weeks of serious prep. I’m retaking it in November and I’m pretty confident of increasing it by a 100 point or so.
If you work hard, you can achieve any target that you set for yourself.
It’s a lot easier to increase from 1700 to a 1900 than to increase from a 2000 to a 2200.
So you’re shooting for a 740 point increase from your first take? It will definitely be challenging. The higher your score gets, the harder it is to improve. A 2400 is especially challenging, and often requires a dash of luck.
It definitely is not a good idea to take any exam sleep-deprived. Zoning out etc. costs you precious time in the SAT. How much it affected you honestly depends on how well you function on low sleep though.
