According to the numbers in this article that means over 53% of ED applicants were rejected. Wow. Good luck everyone

Good lord so nervous…2 hours to go!!

I am very nervous, but somewhat optimistic and excited right now. I know that I will be eating those words, though, if I don’t get in.

1 hour, 53 minutes and counting- GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE!

From an alumni interviewer and proud Dukie, I just want to wish everyone the best of luck this evening and wherever you all end up for college.

Does the 37% students of color mean minority students?

of color just means not white.

kickmeoff and alice, you are totally misinterpreting the numbers. Admission rate in ED is 25%, and is clearly stated above! The 47% is the percent of next fall’s entering class that was selected via ED. Please read carefully.

No they are right if you add up the deferred and accepted and divide by total it is about 47% making 53% rejected

Oliver007 - not really…see 25% of the 3200 got accepted…furthermore, 691 are deferred…that is another approx 22%…so 47% is ALSO represents the number that were NOT rejected…hence, kickmeoff is right when he/she says that 53% are going to be flatout rejected…coz they are…the rest are either accepted or rejected…alice said the same…

Applicants - 3180
Admitted - 797 (25.06%)
Deferred - 643 (20.22%)

Rest - 1740 - (54.72%)

Yes I calculated the numbers as texaspg did above me, it just so happens that 53% was also the number of students who will attend Duke that applied regular

in my impression, duke doesn’t have that high admission rate… statistic number doesn’t always tell the truth…
