5 Generations of Eugenics at Harvard

Predict what would happen if Harvard instituted a system of eugenics* allowing Harvards grads only to marry and raise children with other Harvard grads. Just a crazy idea–obviously not even remotely plausible

*might have used the word wrong

Good god, I hate to say it but Harvard is just a college not some sort of crazy cult or mystical land.

My post looks insane to me right now…it was one of those crazy what if ideas that everyone gets once in a while. Right?

Right?

Even if this were to happen, I don’t see how speculating about it will serve any purpose.

Yale will start winning The Game that’s what.

It won’t serve a purpose

This is a “what if batman and robin fought superman and spiderman” type of question (I think batman has a good chance–intelligence and cunning), not a “what if we could stop global warming by cross breeding mangroves and oak trees” kind

That is indeed an incorrect use of the word eugenics.

In animal breeding, there is a phenomenon known as ‘regression to the mean’. When the parents reside at either extreme of the bell curve, be it height, intelligence, etc, their offspring will most likely deviate toward the center.

So, after 5 generations of Harvard inbreeding, the resulting offspring will probably resemble a Yalie.
