5 unit class for P/NP ?

<p>I am a incoming freshman majoring in Chemical Engineering at Warren College. </p>

<p>I am already following the recommended 4-year schedule for my major, but i want to take Chinese Studies courses, in order to learn Mandarin.</p>

<p>However, the Chinese language courses are 5 units each and since i believe they do not fulfill my GE or my Major requirements, is it possible to take them as “Pass or No Pass” credit?</p>

<p>of course. you just can’t use that class to count towards a major that requires said class, ie. a Chinese Studies major. all classes that go toward a major must be taken for a letter grade. it might be eligible to go toward a Chinese Studies minor though; you’d have to check that.</p>
