5 Year MIA/SIPA Program

<p>My question for you vets (C2002, Shraf, Denzera) is … Do you know anyone who has been admitted to the joint program but didn’t get into SIPA? Is this at all common? The requirements are somewhat rigorous, and I’d hate to comply only to end up with a rejection letter because of a ridiculously low acceptance rate. Thanks.</p>

<p>Typically, the requirements for getting into the joint program are more stringent than the requirements for getting into any of the component programs. That’s definitely true for the AILE program (accelerated law thingy - BA/BS + JD in 6 years). You needed to have a 3.9 GPA, a 170 LSAT, and have completed all of your major requirements by the end of your junior year. Then you’d have to apply to the Law School, of course - but there’s a wink-wink understanding that if you meet the requirements for the AILE program (and there are only 1-2 people each year who do so), you’re just shepherded through to an admit and it’s no big deal.</p>
