500$ enrollment deposit..

For enrolling students on a lot of financial aid (full ride) such as I, does pomona warrant a housing/enrollment deposit waiver?cz it would also seem to me that anyone who applied using a fee waiver of the 65$ application fee has acknowledged that paying 65$ would cause a financial strain to the family…meaning 500$ would DEFINITELY AND EXTENSIVELY strain the family financially, right?

Krato - All this money from this $500 deposit will be returned to you when you graduate or when you transfer, as long as you don’t have any parking tickets, fees, etc…
The check/money order will not be cashed either unless you have fees remaining after four years.
At least that is what the booklet said.

yeah thats very generous and logical of pomona but what of the case where a particular family is having difficulties raising the 500$,especially by the May 1 deadline?

call the school

I know Pomona is good about this. If you were granted an application fee waiver it’s likely the College will grant you a reduced deposit. My kid has a friend who told of having a total of $100 deposit made in four installments and had nothing but great things to say about the support and sensitivity of the financial aid office. Just call.

Thanks for all the help by the way…i emailed them and they said i qualify for a reduced deposit of 100$.

very similar situation for me, can you let me know where you sent your email

Tried the fin aid office but I was told there was no fee waiver
