504 plan

Some time ago, I asked, whether my D should get a 504 plan. Briefly, she has congenital heart disease. In doesn’t affect academic performance, but affects 1) attendance and 2) PE. It was never an issue in elementary or middle school. My D. didn’t want to be singled out and get 504. School was reluctant to get 504 (“why do you need it? She is doing well in school”). Cardiologist signed the 504 form.

Update - 504 helps a lot! If you have an option to get it - go for it! It is great! It helped tremendously with scheduling classes and gave us ability to get some classes online for credit.

I would like to thank everyone on CC who advised me on the 504 form. THANK YOU.
