6 yr old boy in balloon...so scary

soozievt, I saw that “Who the H— is Wolf?” comment. Then Lou Dobbs said, “Did he just say ‘Who the H— is Wolf?’” They didn’t take advantage of it, but I thought it was funny that Falcon would ask who is *Wolf/i.

With the benefit of hindsight, this thread title takes on a whole new meaning!
I’m surprised that this “news story” still has legs. . . .

How did this storm chaser earn a living? Being on Wife Swap twice doesn’t pay the bills.

I hope that they also have to repay the money that was spent in the search, and I also hope that protective services is involved in their situation. Clearly, the parents don’t know how to parent. I also wonder how the parents are treating their 6-year-old who inadvertently tipped police that he was hiding because his parents told him to do it for a TV show.

"FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The parents of a 6-year-old son Coloradan who became known as “balloon boy” will plead guilty at a court hearing on Friday, their lawyer said in a statement on Thursday.

Mayumi Heene will plead guilty to false reporting to authorities, a class 3 misdemeanor, with a stipulated sentence of probation, according to a statement from Killmer, Lane and Newman, attorneys of law.

Richard Heene will plead guilty to attempting to influence a public servant, a class 4 felony. The prosecutor has stipulated to a sentence of probation, the office said in a statement."

I think the punishment fits the crime well:

I agree that the punishment fits the crime well. It’s a well thought out sentence, building in flexibility for the mother to make sure the kids are cared for and closing down the possibility of book or movie deals.

Excellent that this is included.

Sadly, they can still profit from this after their probation time is completed, four years from now.

Hopefully no one will care in 4 years time. I don’t care now, except for being glad the judge seems to have made a sensible ruling.

I’m not completely sure that I’m satisfied with the ruling. I don’t think the father should be allowed to take advantage of such generously handed probation programs.

He lied on behalf of his son’s well being to evoke alarmist attention from the American public. Mr. Heene cost the American tax paying public far too much money and flights were delayed inconviencing hundreds all because of his selfish, puerile behavior.
