A company looking for people with an eye for detail sought out employees with autism. The tech company saw a 90% reduction in errors and a 30% increase in productivity, CEO and founder Dave Friedman said in 2020. April is #AustimAwareness Month. https://cbsn.ws/43V2N3h
There are many companies that have special programs for spectrum applicants. A friend’s son is at Deloitte. Another option is SAP. Those are 2 just off the top of my head.
The Army tested the entire Cyber branch for talent on the autism spectrum. Surprising how many previously undiagnosed people end up in that branch.
I know a relative of the founder , they are a wonderful family. I’ve watched this segment and never thought to share it here so thank you.
Is it that surprising that people working in computing may have a higher concentration of those on the spectrum?
No. Should have said “interesting.”
Our son’s reviewer last year told him that the Army will be loathe to lose his “brand of weapons-grade autism,” although he did not test on the spectrum. He has an unusual ability to focus on a problem to resolution, though.
We never tested S but he was able to lazer focus and study physics and calculus in MD waiting rooms.

That would be my older son. Google suits him very well. He does the sort of work most people would hate. (Stuff with Linux.) He was never diagnosed because he coped very well, but it was clear that if you talk about a spectrum, he was barely on the “normal” side.
Our son, too. He’s a Unix persistence/kernel expert, among other things. As was his mom back in the day…
Yeah, I’ve taken that test before and I always score just on the edge. Mostly I think because I do notice patterns and I’m not fond of chitchat, I just find it exhausting.
