6pm/Zappos Fans

The only time I tried 6pm nothing fit and I had to pay a lot to send it all back. I had not realized return was not free. Now I don’t order from them. I guess if I tried an item on somewhere else and then ordered the exact same thing it might work. Will have to look for the Amazon connection. Good info.

Amazon bought and owns Zappos and, consequently, 6pm. Not all 6pm merch appears on Amazon.

6PM is where “broken SKUs” go–shoes that aren’t being re-ordered and where they don’t have all sizes.

Zappos offers “free” shipping both ways by counting on the very real possibility that you won’t ship stuff back because it’s “okay” even if you don’t love it. You might, in fact, decide that both pairs you ordered are “good enough” where you’d only keep one if you were in a real store. Inertia is a real possibility, and they sell a lot of shoes that way.

Has anyone seen the map of the “most common jobs by state”–in quite a few states, the most common job is “truck driver.” Delivery of internet-ordered goods is a MAJOR business.

Actually the shoes that I bought on sale yesterday at Lord and Taylor at 25% off are listed as full price on Zappo’s at $89.95 so no shipping was involved and I got a nice brisk walk from my office to Lord and Taylor besides…

You can often find the same shoe online cheaper than Zappos.
