70 point CR improvement in 2 months?

I’ve been preparing for the November SAT for the past couple months, and both Math and Writing seemed to have improved drastically, but I’m still trying to improve my Reading Score, as I got a 570 in June and would really like to improve it at least into the mid-600s. Is there anyway a VERY busy student can improve her score by 60-70 points by November? Suggestions please.

The time is enough for the improvement, but you should spend some time for it. Review some strategies to improve yours, do a few practice tests reviewing your mistakes very carefully, understanding why the correct answer is correct and why every other choice is wrong.

Always mark the lines and paragraphs that are mentioned in the questions so you can concentrate on them well.

Practice reading actively, always thinking what is the author trying to say, what is the MAIN point he is trying to make. Don’t let yourself just read the words. You must understand everything you are reading. On double passages think what do the passages have in common, where do their authors’ opinions differ. If you have all this activity in your mind while reading, then you can answer the questions faster.

Remember that the answer must always be precise. The distracting (wrong) answer choices will be:
-something entirely unrelated (easy to eliminate),
-something half true (if some word is not accurate or half of the answer is about something not mentioned in the passage, then the answer is wrong). In this choice there will be something very familiar to trap you if you don’t read the answer choice carefully

 • something true for the passage but not answering the question that is asked; always check if your answer is answering the question
 • something too extreme (“never”, “always”, extreme emotions, too extreme language - cannot be your answer); look for moderate answer

In sentence completions always actively hunt for the clues and choose the word(s) accordingly. If available, review Direct Hits both volumes.
