7th grade SAT and ACT scores

It tends to be a logarithmic curve. As you get older, you improve less and less.

It’s definitely untrue for me. My 7th grade SAT was 1700 or something. 8th grade was about 1800. 11th: 2320.

If you study the same amount, it does tend to be logarithmic. Think of it this way- the curve on the test itself gets steeper as you miss fewer and fewer questions. You’ll have to keep getting more questions right than the year before in order to improve your score by the same amount. Although there’s no reason you can’t do it, as luv2sk8 pointed out.

Hmm…kind of old thread but oh well. It has a lot of gaps in it any ways.
8th grade-2060: CR: 690 W: 720 M: 650
That’s it because I am in 8th grade still.

7th grade: 580 M 520 CR 480 W (total: 1580)
10th grade: 730 M (ugh stupid bubbling mistakes) 800 CR 740 W (total: 2270)

I figured I would update now that several years have gone past…
My 6th grade son’s scores
M 450 CR 380 W 410 1240/2400
7th Grade:
M 470 CR 410 W 480 1360/2400
8th Grade
Don’t remember breakdown, but he got a 1520
10th grade PSAT
Don’t remember breakdown, but it was a 180
11th grade PSAT
61 CR & W and 73 M for a 195
11th grade SAT
770 M 700 Cr 780 W= 2250

im in 7th grade and made a 22 on the act. is there any tips on how to prep for the act

I’m doing CTY,and I just finished 6th grade,so miscarries ma not be as great.I took a practice test for the 2016
revamp, and I got a 576 in math and a 496 in critical reading. For all you guys who struggled over the writing portion, that does not exist starting spring of 2016.So all you guys NOT in 12th grade before the year of 2015-2016,
now’s your prime chance.

Total score of 1070.

whoa…

7th grade ACT 22
8th grade ACT 28
9th grade SAT 2100
He is taking ACT test at this moment (10th grade)

What test prep techniques could I teach my daughter for the 7th grade Duke Tip SAT this fall. I don’t mean prep
learning new material, but test taking techniques.

We cant afford Duke Tip, I want to see where she scores and make sure she gets a strong foundation to shore up gaps if possible.

S took ACT through NUMATS in 7th grade. I think it was very useful for him for familiarity with the test and test format and made subsequent tests much easier. He studied for a few weeks on the last one, not on the others.

7th ACT 25C 23E 22M 29R 25S
10th ACT 33C 34E 31M 30R 36S
11th ACT 36C 36E 36M 35R 36S

Since NUMATS offers both SAT and ACT, we chose the ACT because of length and because it is more popular in our state.

@VANURSEPRAC , the SAT is very, very long for a 7th grader. The key to taking it at that age is not to get stuck on questions and learn how to pace. (Also make sure she has water and a snack, and knows how to use her calculator effectively) The other is to help her reasonably determine what they are asking for in a question. Is she an advanced math class, or has she had some basic geometry? Some formula review is also helpful.

S was perturbed that he didn’t know all of the answers in 7th grade, especially in geometry. I’d try to set expectations for her too. If she is very motivated you can get her one of the prep books.

Taking the test early may also help for entry to a G&T program, or an accelerated math program. Fortunately his middle school placed him on the most advanced track without much fanfare.

^^^^^^^^ Thank You. She is 1/2 through Algebra I right now (self studying). We can work so some basic geometry before the test.

Her school only does SAT for Duke Tip, I am wanting to see if NMF would be in the realm of possibility. But not sure how to go about this.

NMF is determined by PSAT (mostly) and SAT scores, taken in high school. PSAT is taken in 11th grade, the corresponding/confirming SAT can be taken in 10th-12th grades and reported to NM. NMF qualifying score is determined by the state you live in.

I’d go ahead and get some of the prep material then. There are probably lots of people giving them away since the test will change next year. The prep books also have lots of tips (e.g. when to guess and how to narrow down answers) SAT math isn’t much beyond Algebra I, and has no trigonometry.

7th grade: 1670
M: 570
CR: 560
W: 540
8th grade: 1940
M: 670
CR: 620
W: 650
10th grade: 2160
M: 740
CR: 690
W: 730

7th grade = 26 ACT; 11th grade SAT = 2360

7th grade: 2200 10th grade: 2350

7th grade
M 590
R 490
W 390

Well as least good enough for online CTY
Well have daughter try some classes.

Are there any anyone recommends?
