8 total APs enough?
I was doing some rearranging with my schedule. Is 8 total APs enough? My APs with exam scores are as follows:

AP US Gov and Pol-5
AP US History-5
AP Chem-5
AP Eng Lang-5
For senior year:
AP Calc BC
AP Stats
AP Physics C
AP Bio

The rest, while technically not designated as honors, are honors-equivalent. In my school’s course description, it mentions “Due to the rigorous curriculum of the X school, no classes are designated as honors.” Does this imply that the rest of my school’s non-AP academic classes are like those of honors classes?

How many APs does your school offer? If they offer like 8-10, then you’re obviously trying to take as many as possible, and you wouldn’t be harmed at all. Even still, if your school had say, 20+, 8 is a decent number. My school offers quite a lot, and there have been plenty of kids who have taken 8ish APs, and have been admitted to top universities.
Admissions officers will know that non-APs at your school are honors equivalent, as they should have a profile of your school.
Also, this isn’t a Princeton specific question, so why is it here?

Not sure, but even if they are NOT enough, then you can not help it as well. Think about it, if 8 is not enough, then how many will do?! 10 11 0r 12? It is kind of meaningless.
HOLD UR COURSE, try your best to get 5, and that is enough. According to my memory, the average ap of Princeton is 5 or 6 , that means your current performance is above the average.
mail me if needed.

Well it actually depends. You might want to further explain your question. Are you concern with high school graduation or college credits? I know AP classes are a good way to boost your GPA. For example, a 90 in an AP course is actually 100 in a regular class. If you plan on graduating with HS Honors like National Honors Society and top 10% percent of your class, then take as many AP classes as you can! College wise, you have to decide on a college. After deciding your field, figure out the courses. You can usually do this by going to the web site and browsing around. Good luck. I hope I answered your question. :] P.S. If you need help finding the courses to compare them to your senior year then just ask.

I think that the idea of “enough APs” is completely the wrong mindset. I took 4 (only 1 in senior year), only got a 5 on ONE of them, and got in. There are so many other factors, and at least in my school, so many classes that aren’t AP but are incredibly interesting and in many cases more like actual college classes than any of my AP classes were. Be more concerned about what classes sound interesting to you than what classes would look best.
My senior year course load (fall semester class / spring semester class for semester long classes): calc 3 (college class)/intro to comp sci, themes in world religion and literature (honors, pre-req is a good score on ap lit)/film, music theory and composition, advanced physics (honors), photography 2, AP french, japanese 3 (long distance, a joke of a class).
