<p>^ I concur with waitatshu, a score over 750 is seen in the same light as an 800. It only takes one stupid mistake to move down 50 points. SATs won’t help in the gender game, but if it was a choice between a female who intends to major in math or engineering and a male. It they have the same qualifications, the female will probably be chosen because those fields are dominated by more men than other majors.</p>

<p>I don’t think it particularly matters unless that particular girl is interested in pursuing a math (or math-oriented science) major. In that case, she’s a rare find.</p>
