-850 deposit?

Isn't it supposed to be a positive number?

I know they got my check because it says they did on my bank account. It just looks..odd.
(I'm not a financial-bank-y person so I don't know much about this kind of thing..)

Anything that shows up on your bursar usually means you paid more than you need to. But if it's a deposit to enroll into the University, I'm not sure why it would say -850.

It's probably the food/meal deposit which is $400, and the intent to university which is $450

400+450 = 850

Thanks for the response!
I guess it does make sense if it means I paid more than I needed to, because I was waived for my 850 deposit but I didn't find out until I already paid

you have a -850 .. because they waived you deposit.. that is why.. same thing happened to me. and the money is going to be going into ur tution so it doesnt really matter ..
