do i have a chance for georgetown (college) with an 88 average?

Is this a joke?

What the hell? Gtown, while being extremely demanding, doesn’t only look at your grades.
It depends, if you have an 88 and took only normal classes, you should possibly be looking for backups.
if you have an 88 and took a full-load of AP classes/ IB classes and are extremely involved in your school, community and your interests, and show leadership potential and your essay pulls through and your teach. recommendations too, well then you’re solid.

Regardless of what your average is, be it a 98 or a 78, you should always have backups.

Grades aren’t everything. It’s about being a well-rounded person and showing promise. You are a 4-year investment to that college, you have to show potential.

so with an 89 average and full heavy courseload
you think there is potential?
(along with athlete status?)

It really depends. How are your recommendations? ( i know you can’t see them or anything, but have your teachers told you if they were good or not, or just anything at all?)
I really can’t say and I don’t want to get your hopes up, but I know people who did full IB and had predicted perfects who didn’t get in.
It’s really a crap ****. If your application comes together to illustrate you as a well-rounded person, then you have a good shot.

Is your coach writing you a letter? that’d be good. try and have him/her contact the coach of your sport at Gtown

i meant crap shoot!

i actually saw one of my recs and it wasnt too bad. my other two will probably be better haha.
and i am in contact with the coach, i am just working to get my act up.
the reason my gpa has suffered is because i have been to 3 high schools in 4 years, so it has really been challenging to match up curriculum and course requirements.
what kind of act do you think i should aim for in two weeks in order to seem more secure?
