Today’s Google Doodle is so worth watching. The message is even better now.
Beautiful. Wonderful. Heartwarming.
Best ever.
Love it!
Someone posted about this early this morning in the “say it here” thread. I think it was @2VU0609. Definitely cute. I watched the Mr. Rogers documentary on a flight last week. Highly recommend it.
Oh Mr Rogers. I love his messages. They are beautiful. He seems like an amazing person. But I could not stand watching him as a kid. Could not stand it. He talked so slooooooooow. It made me want to scream HURRY UP! My kids hated watching him too. We are a fast speaking family. Lol.
Funny you say that @maya54 . We felt the same, and I didn’t watch him growing up. Which is why I found the documentary so compelling
My kids really liked Mr. Rogers. He wasn’t my favorite Initially… but as I watched him, I realized he spoke to kids about a lot of life’s little lessons.
I met Mr. Rogers at an educational store grand opening in Newport Beach in 1994. I remember telling him “I am overwhelmed to meet you!”
Slight tangent, DS#1 is going to be on a committee with Bill Nye the science Guy. He can’t wait!!
Fred Rogers answered every child’s letter himself. We scheduled our day around the show, adored it. The day he died both my kids came to hug me and be hugged, we were sad. It is interesting to me that so many people have affection for him, yet our culture still doesn’t share many of his values
Mr Rogers gives me hope for the future.
That’s was darling. Thanks for the heads up.
You haven’t already seen it, you must watch his testimony before the Senate Committee on Commerce in 1969. Just google Mr. Rogers Senate.
I had the opportunity to hear him speak in person too and meet and shake his hand. As an early childhood professional it was pretty special.
But I have to admit that like above, the slow pace of the show drove me CRAZY. My kids also were not fans - they were ok with him but the puppet show part creeped them out. I think the puppets were a little scary looking!
